Garbage video
Like many of the comments here, A Double A Mutual Fund with with low fees is excellent and does not suck.
Thanks, here in 2026. I like, the hit like button bit.
Can you talk about buffer ETFs?
Really have learned a lot from your videos….thank you!! I just started investing about a year ago.
I got into trading, thinking I’d learn along the way. I enjoyed the challenge, but reality hit pretty fast. YouTube alone wasn’t cutting it, >and the constant ups and downs had me guessing. I lost more than I gained, but it showed me exactly what I was lacking.
Mutual funds are not always actively managed.
So isn’t possible to have both index fund and ETF in one portfolio?
An index fund can be etf or mutual fund. The important thing is that you choose an index fund that tracks something like the s&p 500, doesn’t matter if it’s the mutual fund or etf version 🙂
uSMART SG makes it convenient to monitor global markets.
SPY etf is now 70% of my worth at age 55. 8-10% a year keeps me going and growing with minimal fees and a historical growth and consistently.
Newbie still. I bought VOO, VTI, VOOG, and few others through fidelity, they are named both an index fund ETF, so I am guessing from this video they can be both an index fund and an ETF at same time or only an index fund without being an ETF(where you can’t buy fractional shares and there is a minimum amount you can buy)? 🧐
I thought there was a fee only on profit not principal ?
Excellent rundown! Thanks!
An index fund is a type of Mutual fund. Next Generational Personal Finance Distinguished Educator. Remember folks: "Money Doesn't Grow on Fees (c)".
Helpful but yoh did not mention the tax advantage/disadvantages of each of them
I'm just learning about investment. Thank you for this basic explanation.
He lost me at "RobinHood is a good exchange platform" 🤣 🤡
in 4th paragraph: "At Index Fund…By buying the S&P 500 Index Fund, such as VFIAX, for around $300…", BUT lower: "The other difference is …. VFIAX for example has an initial minimum of $3000"?? So, which one is correct?
Why is my expense ratio on my Fidelity account super low then if it’s a mutual fund for FXAIX at 0.01% ?
The question is how do you start, I mean where do I go to do this?
The bank?
Who?
Where?
The subtitles do not make any sense.
Helpful for the SIE exam.
This is video is biased against mutual funds anything managed by professionals and certified financial analysts can not suck, unless you don't understand what active management is about. Why would Mutual Funds still exist if they suck? ETFs means the individual spending their time on investing and analyzing markets conditions-how many people can accurately do it? Index Funds are good but what is the index is underperforming…? There is a reason why you traders on stock markets, not so?
So just to clarify, ETFs don't pay dividends?
ETF is my investment 👍
I invested in vanguard s&p 500 index funds, bonds fund and REITs, Tho i'm still worried about assets allocation in my 6 figure portfolio. Any tips for improving portfolio performance?
Can someone explain to me why anyone would buy a mutual fund? Even if they mirror the returns of an index, you still get eaten alive by the fee
Thank you so much Humphrey for making this video. Timely delivery as a new ETF gets listed in my county's stock market.
With everything going on in 2025—rate cuts looming, tech volatility, inflation still biting—it’s getting harder to know where to park $250K safely. I keep hearing different takes on index funds, ETFs, and mutuals. They sound similar but I know there’s nuance.
@humphrey, Dave Ramsey recommends investing in mutual funds for retirement…what are your thoughts on that?
